  • Make learning a priority. Believe in yourself and practice helpful self-talk to help you stay on track for study success.
  • Make sure you cover all of the learning and assessment requirements for each subject, including attendance in class, preparatory reading, note taking, homework, assignments and studying for tests and exams.
  • Summaries can be a helpful way to capture the main points of a topic and revision is essential for efficient learning. So write summaries regularly and revise often by re-reading from your notes and textbooks.
  • Re-assess your study patterns from time to time. Are you keeping up to date in all your subjects? Do you need to spend more time studying generally or for certain subjects?
  • Accept feedback from your teachers constructively and keep trying. See every completed step as a success.
  • It may seem that your friends are succeeding more at their study than you, and perhaps they also have more free time than you. We all have our own unique learning style and pace and so must work in a way that is best for our own needs. What are you doing now to learn effectively? What would you like to improve?
