Parenting a baby or a child can be a rewarding experience. It can also be stressful and demanding. Children need constant care and attention, and this can result in fatigue, frustration and sometimes even anxiety and depression for parents. Finances can be stretched due to reduced income, and it can be difficult to balance the demands of being a parent, partner and student.

Being a parent while studying can also be a very positive experience if the appropriate support is available. The counsellors at Student Life can help if you wish to address concerns you may have relating to parenting. You can ring 9286 9891 to make an appointment or simply drop in to Student Life on the Nelson campus, Room G83.
