Box Hill Institute - Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct applies to all students across the Box Hill Institute and Centre for Adult Education community and aims to ensure the safety, comfort and well‐being of everyone including children at the Institute.

A Student commits misconduct if they engage in actions which adversely affect the Institute or any member of the Institute or which may be prejudicial to the good order and conduct of the Institute.

The Institute acknowledges that staff, students and official visitors to the Institute have a right to freedom of speech and academic freedom so long as this is respectful, relevant to their area of expertise / studies /experience and does not breech the Staff or Student Code of Conduct.

Breaches of the Student Code of Conduct may result in action according to Institute policies and procedures including the Student Conduct Management Policy and Procedure.

Box Hill Institute (BHI) has a zero tolerance approach towards sexual assault and sexual harassment (SASH) and is committed to prevention, education and reporting. BHI has targeted policies, procedures and training to support members of the BHI Community achieve the following commitments:

24/7 support for individuals experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, sexual assault, domestic or family violence

Sexual Assault Crisis Line

A free, statewide, after-hours service for people in Victoria who have experienced sexual violence. The crisis line operates from 5 pm on weeknights to 9 am the next day, and during the same hours on weekends and public holidays.

Centres for Sexual Assault (CASA)

The peak body for the 15 Centres Against Sexual Assault in Victoria and the Victorian Sexual Assault Crisis Line. Use this map to find your nearest centre, or call the above number to be connected with your nearest centre or for after-hours support.

In attending BHI campuses and accessing BHI networks you are agreeing to comply with all BHI and procedures as they apply to you as a student and will uphold the principles within the Student Code of Conduct.
