Welcome to Counselling Services

If you are having any difficulties in adjusting to student life, managing the demands of studying or coping with life's challenges, perhaps it's time to ask for assistance.

It's a good idea to talk to someone about your feelings, whether it's a friend, a relative or a counsellor at BHI. You can also learn more about different issues by clicking on the links on the left side of this page.

Counselling offers the opportunity to explore your issues and feelings in a safe and confidential setting. A counsellor can work with you to generate and implement strategies for positive change.

There are many reasons why people decide to seek counselling. These include:

  • study concerns
  • a lack of motivation
  • relationship difficulties
  • problems at work
  • stress
  • loss or bereavement
  • anxiety and panic
  • depression
  • mental health issues
  • alcohol or drug concerns

Counselling is free and confidential except where there is a risk to safety. Where possible, the counsellors will work with you to develop a plan that you are comfortable with to address your needs.
