Important!

Before you log into StudentWeb for the first time you need to follow the Password Reset Process (PRP). This will allow you to reset your password in the future, should you ever forget or need to update it. You will need to setup a minimum of 2 authentication methods, eg. an alternative phone or email, or security questions. This way if you attempt to reset your password, we can verify that it is you!

Step 1 

Visit https://aka.ms/ssprsetup  to begin your password reset set-up. Login with your student email address SXXXXXXXX@student.bhtafe.edu.au (bhiXXXXXXXX@student.bhtafe.edu.au or caeXXXXXXXX@learner.cae.edu.au) and network password

If you are a new student your temporary network password will be sent to the personal email address you nominated on your enrollment form. If you have not received this please contact the ITS help desk on 9286 9465.


Step 2

Select Choose security info.


Step 3

Use the drop down arrow and select Phone.


Step 4

Click on Set up and follow the on screen instructions.


Step 5

Select the country code Australia +61.


Enter your mobile number, select text me a code and then select next.


Step 6

Enter the code sent to your mobile phone and select done.


Step 7

Your phone number verification is now setup. Select done.


Step 8

You will be automatically logged out. Enter the new security code sent to your mobile, then select verify.


Step 9

Select Add security info.


Step 10

Select Security questions.


Step 11

Select your questions and answers then click Finished.

Step 1 

Visit https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com to begin resetting your password

Enter your Box Hill student email address followed by the characters below and click Next.


Step 2

Select Send a text to my mobile phone and enter your registered phone number, then click Text.


Step 3

Check your phone for the authentication code. Enter the code that was sent to your phone via text and click Next.



Step 4

Enter your new password and again to confirm, then select Finish.


Note

Your password:

  • Must be at least 10 characters
  • Have not been used as any of the previous 10 passwords
  • Must not contain your account name or full name
  • Must be changed every 90 days
  • Must contain to 3 of the following 4 conditions:
    • Upper case characters (A-Z)
    • Lower case characters (a-z)
    • Numerals (0-9)
    • Non-alphabetic characters (i.e. ! $ # %)
