Coronavirus (COVID-19) & the Library

Coronavirus (COVID-19) related changes to Library services

Nelson Library and City Campus (CAE) Library are now closed. Lilydale Library is open 9.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday. These hours will apply until further notice.

New: The Student Hub, also known as the Elgar Library Study Area, is now back to normal extended hours: 7.30am to 10.00pm, Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am to 6.00pm on Fridays. NB: You must enter the campus and pass through a health screening station before 4.00pm, prior to entering the Elgar Student Hub. Elgar Library is open and staffed 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Please only visit us in person if you have essential business on campus and strictly observe all screening and social distancing requirements.

Any books and other library items you have borrowed will be automatically extended; no action is required by you. Holds will be very delayed compared to normal, and items may not be available if the library they are housed at is closed. We advise you to look for online alternatives via our Discovery Catalogue below. Processing of returns will also be delayed, but no penalties for late return will be applied when this happens.

You can reach us by phone at Elgar (03) 9286 9283 or by email to library@boxhill.edu.au. Most library staff are working remotely and are still available to assist you with advice and training on library resources, including the online resources available to you while access to hardcopy resources is restricted.

Thanks for your understanding during the current circumstances.
