CPCCBC4001 - Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Class 1 and 10 buildings

This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to access, interpret and apply relevant building codes and standards applicable to the National Construction Code (NCC) Classes 1 and 10 buildings, to a maximum of two storeys. It includes knowledge of the structure of the NCC, as well as the ability to access relevant information from the code as applicable to various building projects.

CPCCBC4010 - Apply structural principles to residential and commercial constructions

This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to apply structural principles to the construction or demolition of residential or commercial structures. This unit includes applying structural principles to footing, floor, wall and roof systems. It applies to National Construction Code (NCC) classifications:

  • Residential – Class 1 and 10 buildings, maximum 2 storeys
  • Commercial – Class 2 to 9, Type C only constructions
