Dr Mick Blake

Dr Mick Blake is the Director of the Biosecurity Centre of Excellence and brings with over 20-years’ experience in food, food packaging and agriculture organisations. He is a non-executive director of Dairy Food Safety Victoria; a statutory
authority that is accountable to the Victorian Minister for Agriculture, and has previously served on the Food Safety Council of Victoria and several other industry steering groups. Mick led Dairy Australia’s on-farm investment in dairy-cattle
research, development and extension, led Ausbiotech’s national agricultural biotechnology program and was secretariat to the Agricultural Biotechnology Council of Australia. Mick was the Global Sustainability Leader for one of the world
leaders in food packaging and has a has led several commercial innovation and research and development teams.
Dr Blake completed his PhD in Nutrition and Food Science at Utah State University, has a Master’s in Business Administration from Mount Eliza Business School and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mick completed
his Bachelor of Science at Latrobe University majoring in Microbiology and Biochemistry.
