Coronavirus Update
There have been no reported coronavirus (COVID-19) cases at Box Hill Institute campuses as at 2:00pm, Thursday 26 March 2020.
The Department of Education and Training has clarified TAFEs as an essential service, which is why we are keeping our doors open. However, we are moving to digital or remote course delivery models, which means our facilities remain operational but there will be fewer students on campus.
While we remain open, we must take the health advice around hand washing and social distancing seriously. Box Hill Institute cannot overstate the importance of social distancing in the prevention of contracting coronavirus. This means ensuring there is a 1.5m distance between you and other people at all times – in class, in the café, in the hallways, and outside.
There is hand sanitiser placed around campus for students and we are undertaking enhanced cleaning and sanitising of all buildings to further protect students, employees, and stakeholders in high-traffic areas. This includes a focus on touch points such as handles, elevator buttons, light switches, railings, and tabletops.
The rate at which we change our course delivery methods will be different for each course. Some are ready to move to a fully digital learning experience and others will take time to set up.
The coronavirus response is evolving all the time and we’re monitoring the official advice we’ve been given. Changes will continue for some time and we will update you regularly on what’s happening.
