7 April 2020 Coronavirus Update
There have been no reported coronavirus (COVID-19) cases at Box Hill Institute campuses as at 2.30pm, Tuesday 7 April 2020.
The latest Stage 3 restrictions for Victoria have come
into effect and this means there are only four reasons to leave your home: food
and supplies, medical care, exercise, and work or education. These restrictions
will be reviewed in three weeks.
As an education provider, the direction we have received
from the Department of Education and Training remains unchanged.
Course Delivery and Assessments
As of Tuesday 14 April, all vocational courses will be delivered remotely. Higher education students have already transitioned across to remote learning. Where possible, all theory is being brought forward to create space later in the timetable to complete practical components, where relevant.
Teachers are reviewing practical assessment items to
identify those elements students may be able to demonstrate from home and how.
Where this is not possible, practical assessments will be scheduled for when
classes resume on campus.
Students currently working and being assessed in the
workplace will continue to be supported.
If you have concerns or questions about your course while
studying remotely, please contact your course coordinator and provide details
of your specific questions. Course coordinators will return your enquiry with
the information you need.
Building Consolidation
With the beginning of the term break, there has been a significant reduction of staff and students on campus and as a consequence, we are implementing measures to limit access to a certain number of buildings.
