Phased Return to Campus Update #7
The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve with new restrictions coming into place as of 11.59pm on 1 July. Residents in restricted postcodes must follow Stay at Home Directions. There are four reasons that these residents can leave home:
· Shopping for food or other essential items
· Work or education, if they cannot work or study from home
· To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or seek medical treatment
· For exercise (outdoor exercise only, with only one other person or members of their household)
As it is the semester break, most students will not need to attend campus however for those that do, there are new entry requirements to follow.
Entry Monitoring on Campus
As of Wednesday 1 July, Entry Stations have been set up on each campus and all students entering the campus must present to the station, acknowledge the declaration and apply hand sanitiser. Stickers reminding students to continue practising physical distancing on campus will continue to be issued.
Physical distancing requirements are still in place and all students must adhere to them, which includes maintaining a 1.5 metre distance at all times or, in cases where this cannot be implemented, use personal protective equipment such as a mask.
The Department of Health and Human Services continues to provide the following guidance on how to respond to COVID-19:
· Practice good hygiene
· Maintain physical distancing, keep at least 1.5 metres away from others
· Understand the risk and symptoms
· Help continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 by getting tested, even if you have mild symptoms
· Stay home and avoid contact if you’re feeling unwell
· Take care wherever you go, assume others may be carrying the virus
