Hi Everyone,

The Victorian Government has announced changes to the management of COVID-19. BHI remains committed to providing a safe learning environment, and will adopt the following changes:

Isolation Requirements Removed

Individuals testing positive to COVID-19 will no longer have to isolate for a period of 5-7 days. BHI is strongly recommending anyone who tests positive to COVID-19 to remain at home until they are feeling well and no longer have symptoms.

Pandemic Declaration (including Pandemic Orders) ending

The Victorian Government will end the Pandemic Declaration (including Pandemic Orders) at 11.59pm on Wednesday, 12 October.

The following COVID-19 safe measures are strongly recommended within the BHI community:

  •  Requirements for close contacts to continue testing negative on a rapid antigen test before leaving their house/attending campus
  • Wearing a mask indoors and while travelling on public transport.

What is Remaining the Same?

The following COVID-19 safe measures are remaining the same within the BHI community –

  • BHI’s commitment to provide a COVID-19 Safe environment
  • Employees required to continue to comply with the BHI Employee COVID-19 vaccination policy (mandatory two doses, strongly recommended a third vaccination)
  • A COVID Safe plan in place for all BHI controlled workplaces
  • Employees recovering at home from COVID-19 or other illnesses
  • Reporting - All positive cases who attended campus 48 hours prior to testing positive must report their case to BHI
  • Provision of Rapid Antigen Tests (rats) for employees and school-based students.

Please continue to look after yourself, during this transition phase. If you have any questions, please reach out to Bronwyn Glover at b.glover@boxhill.edu.au
