NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate and recognise our history, culture and the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander First Nations peoples. This year’s national theme for NAIDOC is ‘For our Elders’ and creates an opportunity for everyone to participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living culture on earth. First Nations Elders are pivotal in the roles they have in supporting their communities and raising awareness of the First Nations peoples. Elders promote and embed First Nations peoples culture through education and advocacy within our community.
With that in mind, an in line with acceptable NAIDOC protocols, our on-campus celebrations will be in August so more people can be involved and attend.
Stay tuned, as we have some exciting things planned!
