All Box Hill Institute campuses will be closed on Tuesday 4 August 2026 for our annual Staff Professional Development Day.
At BHI we want to ensure all our staff deliver the highest quality educational experience possible. Our Professional Development Days provide our staff the opportunity to come together and build their knowledge, develop new skills, and explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
By investing in our people, we're investing in our students. The ideas, insights, and practical strategies gained throughout the day will help create more engaging, inclusive, and effective learning experiences for all our students.
What does this mean for students?
There will be no classes on Tuesday 4 August 2026.
All campuses will be closed and teaching and administration staff will be unavailable for the entire day.
We’ve made sure this closure does not impact your learning journey, but if you have any concerns about this, please contact your teachers or course coordinators.
You will still be able to access StudentWeb and online services.

- Cafes
- Elgar and Nelson campus libraries
- Hair and Beauty Salon
- Barbershop
- Pets on Elgar
- Flowers on Elgar
- PlayBox Playgroup
- Skills & Jobs Centres
Campuses will reopen and classes will resume as normal on Wednesday 5 August 2026.
