'Good and 'Bad' equipment

Some training devices are banned in Victoria. For instance, prong collars are not permitted by law. This is despite the fact that some trainers argue that they are less painful for dogs than standard ‘choker’, ‘check’ or ‘correction’ collars. Electric shock collars are also controversial. Some trainers believe they should never be used, others think they should only be used in a very small proportion of cases and others use them almost routinely.
