Support For International Students

At Box Hill Institute, there is a designated International Student Wellbeing Officer who works within the Student Life team to support students with their wellbeing needs throughout their study. We also have an Academic Advisor who provides a broad range of help and support for your study issues. For more information about the support we offer international students, please watch the orientation video.

The resources listed below may be beneficial to international students who are seeking financial help, food banks, accommodation assistance, and COVID-related support. All of these services are free and available to student visa holders. Information regarding Health Insurance for all students who are members with BUPA is also included.

Farzad (Faz) Maghami

Farzad (Faz) Maghami is an academic advisor who provides a broad range of help and support for study issues specifically for International and Higher Education students. He helps students with writing essays and reports, referencing, note taking, proof reading and more. Faz has degrees in engineering, digital communication and adult education and has been teaching in Melbourne since 1991.

Nikki Singh

Amily is the International Student Wellbeing Officer. She is passionate about supporting international students to accomplish their personal and educational goals throughout their journey at BHI. Moving from overseas to Australia herself and having worked with international students over many years, Amily has developed a full insight into the unique challenges that international students often face. She brings to the role her culturally sensitive, student-centred and solution-focused approach along with a compassionate and caring personality.
