Enrolment options

The aim of this unit is to develop student’s ability to understand and develop respectful, secure and responsive relationships with children individually and with groups of children. The unit explores the relevant theories including attachment and assists in the development of the student’s understanding of how to achieve a healthy and mutually respectful relationship. Students explore the role of the teacher in developing responsive and respectful relationships with children and impact of the learning environment on children’s behaviour.
Through the unit, students will be introduced to identifying possible underlying motivations of children’s behaviour and identifying behaviours that may be a concern. Students will begin to develop a toolbox of strategies that contributes to the foundations skills of providing direct and indirect guidance.
