This unit examines the legislative, regulatory and national quality frameworks relevant to early childhood education. It will assist in the development of the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure compliance and the development of quality practices in the early childhood services sector. Work health and safety policies, procedures and practices will be explored in the context of the small work team within an early childhood service. Individual job roles and responsibilities will be considered to identify the legal and ethical responsibilities, including exploring the concept of duty of care to children, families, colleagues, and the profession.
