Box Hill Institute use Microsoft Office 365 to host all student email addresses. All email from StudentWeb will go to this email account, however you will need to set up your email account to accept emails.

How to set up your email account

  1. Go https://outlook.com/student.bhtafe.edu.au
  2. Enter your student email address and password
  3. Select Sign in
Your StudentID will be located on your StudentID card ie. SXXXXXXX or BHIXXXXXXX or CAEXXXXXXX.

Your full username for email will look like this:

  • sXXXXXXXX@student.bhtafe.edu.au 
  • bhiXXXXXXXX@student.bhtafe.edu.au 
  • caeXXXXXXXX@learner.cae.edu.au 

Your Password is your Box Hill Institute password. Need to Reset your password?

Alert: You must log in to StudentWeb for the first time and set your own password before logging in to your Office 365 account. If you have not done this yet, the video First login to StudentWeb provides instructions.

General email information

  • Your StudentWeb password is your email password, it will updated when your StudentWeb password changes.
  • To connect your student email to other email accounts or to forward all email to your usual email address go into Options, See All Options and choose Connected Accounts
  • Setting up email on your mobile phone
  • Email storage is 50Gb.

Forwarding your email

    After you sign in to Outlook Web App select the settings icon on the top right of the screen.

    Start typing 'forwarding' into the search box.

    Select 'forwarding'.

    1) Select the 'enable forwarding' radio button. 2) Type in your personal alternative email address. 3) Select 'Save'. You can keep a copy of forwarded messages in your student email by selecting the associated checkbox.
