Phased Return to Campus Update #6

While students enjoy a well-earned term break, Box Hill Institute staff will continue working and can take some time to reflect on a term like no other.

The Elgar Student Hub, aka the Elgar Library Study Area, is now back to normal, extended hours, open from 7.30am to 10.00pm, Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 6.00pm on Fridays. The Elgar Library will remain open during the break and is staffed 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. There are no changes to the other libraries at this stage with the Lilydale Lakeside library open from 9.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday and the Nelson and City campus libraries closed.

Throughout Term 2, the Concierge Team has provided a visible reassurance on campus of the safety protocols we have in place to enable our phased return for practical classes. During term, we saw an increased commitment to new safety protocols, including infection control training, hand hygiene measures, social distancing, wearing PPE (if required), and increased cleaning regimes around campus.

Students and staff have done an excellent job, and the decision has been made to disband the Concierge Team due to high level of commitment to safety and our protocols in place. With the removal of the Concierge process, students must be vigilant in ensuring they adhere to our protocols and ensure that others on campus are doing the same.

Feedback

While we are working through this phased transition to campus, we are encouraging students to share feedback with us about our processes and procedures on campus in response to COVID-19.

Students can send feedback to customerrelations@boxhill.edu.au. Collecting this feedback will enable our project team to ensure that our processes are working effectively in our goal to keep you safe.
