Phased Return to Campus Update #9

Since the announcement on Tuesday, 10 Victorian postcodes went into Stage 3 restrictions, which advises those residents to stay at home. For students who are located in these areas, the same advice remains that education is one of the four reasons that people can leave their homes if they are required to do so and cannot learn remotely.

It’s currently the semester break so most students aren’t required on campus. For those who do come on campus, there are Entry Monitoring Screening Stations that you must visit. These stations are for students to show their signed Return to Campus Declaration and to take hand sanitising measures. The stations are located at:

·         Elgar – E3

·         Nelson – Café

·         Lilydale – LB/LC Reception

Everyone who passes through the entry points will be issued with a sticker as a visible reminder of who has been screened.

Please note: Horticulture (Lilydale) and John Street (Lilydale) have their own screening stations following the same protocols.

Physical distancing requirements remain in place and all students must adhere to them, which includes maintaining a 1.5 metre distance at all times or, in cases where this cannot be implemented, use personal protective equipment such as a mask.

Library Hours

The Elgar Student Hub, aka the Elgar Library Study Area, is now back to normal, extended hours, open from 7.30am to 10.00pm, Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 6.00pm on Fridays. The Elgar Library will remain open during the break and is staffed 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. There are no changes to the other libraries at this stage with the Lilydale Lakeside library open from 9.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday and the Nelson and City campus libraries closed.
