6 July 2020 Coronavirus Update

Over the weekend, two new postcodes were added to the restricted postcode areas in Victoria. Postcode 3031 (taking in Flemington and Kensington) and postcode 3051 (covering North Melbourne) were added to the list of suburbs already under stay-at-home orders from midnight Saturday night.

For anyone who is under stay-at home instructions, you are still allowed to attend campus for work or education purposes.

Due to increased community transmission in several areas in North Melbourne and Flemington, the Premier has issued a “hard lockdown” for parts of these areas effective from midnight Saturday.

For students residing in a “hard lockdown” area, due to increased restrictions, you are not able to leave your premises to attend Box Hill Institute campuses.

This is a difficult time for the State and in particular for people living in these hard lockdown areas. Box Hill Institute values the safety of all students and has a range of support available to any student who is affected by hard lockdown.

If you are a student who is residing in the area of hard lockdown, please contact your teacher to discuss any support required for your learning.

For support during this time, you can contact Box Hill Institute Student Life to speak to our onsite counsellors and support services (phone: 9286 9891 or email studentlife@boxhill.edu.au)
