Students are advised that the government has changed the isolation periods for COVID positive cases.

The mandated isolation period for positive cases with no symptoms is now five days.

Close Contact – Positive Case: If you are a close contact with a positive case (household contact – more than four hours in an accommodation like setting) -  You don't have to quarantine at all during the isolation period (five – seven days) and you can leave home each day provided you:

  • Continually test negative using a rapid antigen test, on at least five days out of the isolation period (ensure tests are spaced at least 24 hours apart)
  • Wear a mask indoors when outside your home
  • Do not visit hospitals or care facilities
  • Notify your education facility.  You are required to wear a mask while on campus.

If you do not follow these steps, you must quarantine for the seven-day period – and you are required to get tested on day one and day six.

Reporting of COVID cases on Campus - If a positive case attends campus during their infectious period (48 hours prior to the onset of symptoms or testing positive) the case must be reported to BHI. Please contact your Facility Manager.

As we continue to live alongside COVID it is important to follow the advice in place to support and protect our health and wellbeing.
