From now until the 3rd of June, VCAL students at Nelson Campus are looking to fundraise and gather donations for multiple community groups.
These groups include:
Food Bank – We are looking for donations of non-perishable food, sauces/seasonings, shampoo and conditioner, toiletries and feminine hygiene products.
Guide Dogs Australia – Trying to raise awareness of the Guide Dogs and the work they do, and will be accepting gold coin donations.
Avalon Centre – Looking for donations of clean clothing, bedding, shoes and socks, toiletries (unopened), and sleepwear. Women’s plus size clothing is also a focus right now.
The Royal Children’s Hospital – Donate a gold coin and have a guess at how many Jelly Beans are in the jar. If you are closest, you win the jar!
St. Vincent de Paul’s Society - Donations of clothing, bedding, shoes and socks, toiletries (unopened), sleepwear and kids toys.
Respect.gov.au - Aiming to raise awareness and start conversations around reducing domestic violence, in particular with young people. Will be handing out brochures as well.
Donations will be accepted from Monday 27th May – Monday 3rd of June.
If you are feeling generous, please come down and give what you can. There are collection boxes set up in the Nelson Campus Cafeteria.
