Is Literacy & Numeracy (LN) Support for you?

Do you struggle with Maths, Reading or Writing? Do you feel like you've always been missing certain foundation skills needed to get your work done like how to measure, use a computer, use fractions, convert millimetres, construct a paragraph or find ways to express what you want to say in class conversations or oral presentations?

If you answered yes to any of these, you may have gaps in your literacy or numeracy skills. And that's ok! People have gaps in their foundational skills for all sorts of reasons; war, poverty, sickness, long absences at school or simply being more "left brained" or "right brained". Whatever the cause, we're glad you've figured out now that it's time to close those gaps once and for all!! You're in the right place!

Services include:

  • Literacy and Numeracy Support (LN Support) program is designed to assist students, who have gaps in their prior learning, to complete there coursework with foundation skills

What Support is Available?

The Literacy & Numeracy Support (LN Support) service is designed to assist students, who have gaps in their prior learning, with foundation skills to complete their coursework and succeed in the workplace. Students enrol in a funded skill set that will complement the primary course to which they have been enrolled.

The program focuses on vocational reading, writing, numeracy (maths) and communication (speaking, presenting and listening) skills. The LN Support service is flexible, and provides help in classrooms alongside vocational teachers in your primary course of study.

Sounds great! How do I access the service?

Some students are contacted by a teacher from the LN Support team prior to the start of their courses; based on the results of the Core Skills Diagnostic Profile that they completed when they applied for their program of study. LN Support teachers contact these students before they commence to enrol in the LNSUPPORT Skill Set that is delivered concurrently with their primary vocational course.

Other students self-refer to the service. Students in this category self-identify that they have gaps in their foundational skills that are preventing them from really understanding what's being asked if them in their units of study and associated assessment tasks.

The third way for students to access this service is to be referred by their teacher. Teacher referrals are common and may request support for an individual, small group or entire class. The LN team's job is to help these students fill in these gaps to ensure a long and happy study and employment journey

Awesome! How do I get in touch?

LN Support Teachers can be contacted by email and meet with students in class to present the way we support students by enrolling in the funded Skill Set.

For students wanting to self-refer or if you've lost the details of your dedicated LN Support teacher, check out the contact guide below:
