Bachelor of Music Industry - Music Production Skills Primer
This page is designed to help students who might not have a lot of experience using music making software, also known as digital audio workstations or DAWs. In the music production program at Box Hill Institute, we focus primarily on using Ableton Live. So additionally, you might like to use this resource to help you get familiar with this particular program (even if you've previously used another). Lastly there are some basic music theory concepts explored in here too, for those who would like some assistance with that.
In our first semester music production classes, we will expect everyone has covered some of these fundamental concepts already. If you'd like the assistance getting familiar with these basic concepts to get ready for the semester ahead (or to revise during the semester), follow along with the lessons below. Make sure you try the quizzes and practical activities to really get comfortable with each topic.
