About the Service

We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all students. We provide tailored support for learners with disabilities, health conditions, or mental health challenges, ensuring equitable access to education and training.

Our team works collaboratively with students and staff to implement reasonable adjustments, offer assistive technologies, and facilitate access to specialised resources that empower every student to succeed.

Disability Transition Support

The Disability Transition Support Officer (DTSO) at Box Hill Institute plays a vital role in supporting students with disabilities, health conditions, or mental health challenges as they navigate the transition into vocational education and training.

The DTSO focuses on easing the shift from secondary school, community, or other learning environments by providing personalised guidance, coordinating reasonable adjustments, and connecting students with appropriate support services. The DTSO works closely with students, families, and educators to foster confidence, independence, and success in the TAFE setting.

If you have a diagnosed disability and/or health condition and are planning on moving from secondary education to TAFE at BHI, reach out to the DTSO by emailing als@boxhill.edu.au
